It was a little surprising to hear her talk about Blackthorne like this when he remembered well the time they had to call him an ally, but either way, he would support her decision. He listened thoughtfully as she called the other male a disease, his lips twitching with humor. He could agree with that. She was being protective over her family and her pack and he could respect that. After all, they were his family and his pack as well. When he teased her a little about their former closeness one particular winter, she suprised him yet again by leaning in to put her paw on his and say that sometimes they were. He met her gaze, his own lips tugging into a smile to match her own before she nudged her head against his shoulder in what he could only assume was gratitude. Even without saying it, she had to know he would do anything for her. Loyalty was never a strong suit of Cuirass, but somehow Sekhmet had earned that and more from him in his time here.

He knew he would never be what Kweku was to her and that was okay with him because hd would never truly forget his connection with Belhara. Maybe she was still "it" for him and he would never find someone else to form that particular connection with but at least in the interim, he'd found Sekhmet and their friendship filled the hole that Belhara had left. When she pulled back, she said that she wouldn't hold him back but she didn't want him to endanger himself. He smirked. "You know better than to worry about me." He said with a sly wink, but even so, his face sobered as he let her finish, saying she would talk to Kweku and see what he thought. Knowledge was never a bad thing. Cuirass nodded in agreement. She suddenly asked what he wanted to do and he tilted his head for a moment as he thougth before he answered.

"Discretion is probably best for now until we know what he's up to, cause you know he's definitely up to something if he's back in town. We shouldn't show our cards until we have an ace up our sleeve so I'll see what I can find out indirectly. No direct contact, that way he doesn't know we're onto him. Sound good?" He could be a good listener in the free lands and see what rumors were flying around. That shouldn't cause any harm, right? He was willing to take her opinion on it. Then she said his name expectantly and he knew she had more to talk about. He pricked his ears to give her his attention. "Yes?"
