bacardi
The Bay. Her words bring his gaze back to her, a new sense of curiosity nagging at him. Bacardi wanted to flood her with a million questions, but he was able to stop himself. Only hesitating a moment as he tried to think of the best way to answer her question first. “It can be lonely.” he replied honestly, never taught to be anything else. “But the view is breathtaking, especially at first morning’s light.”
Bacardi frowned slightly, his own thoughts clouding his mind. Would it have been so lonely, if the war had not come? He would have spent more time with his mother and half sisters had they not gone. Mother would have also been around to introduce him to the other Valkyries, and possibly their foals to play with. The young stallion flicked his ears with a sigh, pushing it away, offering the young mare a smile once more but it didn’t touch his eyes this time.
“What is the Bay like?” he asked, moving away from the thoughts of the Peak and the root of his worry. “I’ve always wondered what it was like, to grow up in a herd.” Bacardi added, wondering if she would be more enlightened to share than he had been.
