Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

WHERE THERE IS L O V E

Shenzi settled, the gentle swell of the surf soothing in its own unique way. Any fears or concerns she’d had were drawn out by the tide. She needn’t have doubted the stallion, even though she certainly had reason to. With a curiosity that burned brighter with every word that he speaks, Shenzi is drawn to the quiet wisdom of the large, pale stallion. If only… If only there were more like him. She does not remark on his thoughtful expressions aloud, merely dips and bobs her head in agreement. A smile finds a firm place upon her lips, but at a sudden turn in conversation, with the stallion bringing them full circle back to Shenzi’s own earlier comment, the plucky little mare’s grin falters.

“I… My son,” she murmurs, turning her muzzle aside to look along the shoreline. The barb mare is silent for several long moments, and even when she angles herself back towards her companion, she isn’t quite able to meet his gaze again. “He’s not the first loss I’ve endured, and I know he’s not really here…” Shenzi trails off, and then with a lopsided grin that manages to stick and a faint spark in her eye, she tilts her muzzle up to the stallion. “I can remember him wherever I am, just as I remember the others. I have no reason to stay. And just like that, her mind was made up.

With conviction, she moved just a ways past the stallion, and paused, turning her head aside again, ears pricked. But she did not look back. Thank you. A pause, and then a final question. “If I find myself in need of your sage wisdom, kind stranger, where might I look for you?” She’d linger only long enough to hear his answer, before inching into deeper water, and allowing it to pull her out to sea.
