Clearly mortality was bullshit. Derecho was still here. She’d woken up in a weird body with even weirder shit going on, but she was alive. That’s what matters, right? Being alive. Funny concept that was. Strange concept. Everything is weird to Derecho. She’s weird to herself. Clearly that’s okay. She’s still going in the same way she’s always been. Just as angry, just as brilliant. Just as bright. Derecho is too strong for that. She’s too hard around the edges.
All hard edges and fine lines, she fixes on the bay as he nears. Not used to having a horn, yet it suits her. Suits her so well as her head swings. Lip raises, showing a sharp canine tooth. She’d retained those. That, at least, the perfect storm had to be thankful for.
