her brother gone, and with only but the wind for company, she'd not expected the arrival of another. dim to the world, the conception of any comprehension came shallow and unsure. she thought it but a road to follow, a place where many paths would meet. innocence, effete and cherubic, toiled against the manner of his approach or what it may mean. no, the doe instead greeted him with a smile, finding only relief in his greeting and welcome. the isles, painted exotic and splashed with expedition and smattered with a falsified serenity. it seemed far away from maniacal intentions, shades richer and lighter than the sinister hearts of those she'd fled.

that they had fled.

it was luck, pure unbridled luck: other attempts had, other silvery knights had taken up their mounts, their shields, their swords. their words a pittance, their promises cracked. in the end, abandoned. the damsel in distress, forgotten on the tracks. and how lucky, a new one. and her trust in him came quickly. her cheeks warmed with elation. the star-witch faulted experience with optimism, dropping her chin in a returned nod of greeting. "My thanks," his question drew her eyes back to the sea that had spat her loose from it's frothing shallows. Her reply did not come coy, or willfully demure. A matter of fact, without much beyond it: "Same as you, I suppose."

She paused, allowing for her sweetened expression to find him fully. "I am Orphea, who are you?"
