!! MATURE !!
Swearing, death, general mayhem

A few people milled around the officer's dining hall, movements quick and excited, but since the captain was present they were careful to keep themselves in check. They chatted in low voices instead, discussing the most recent discoveries made from Shaman. Captain Locke nibbled lightly on a fresh strawberry, sitting back in his chair with a delicate, contented sigh. What a treasure trove they'd found with Shaman, so many strange and interesting specimen had already been catalogued, but their most recent capture was sure to earn him a medal or several.

"RED ALERT," droned the ship's computer in a steady, unbothered tone. "OBLITERATION IMMINENT. RED ALERT. RED ALERT."

The Captain shot a sharp look to the chief engineer to his right; the young woman sighed in exasperation, tossing her napkin onto her plate and getting to her feet. He frowned at her.

"I thought you'd fixed that," he said sharply. "We can't have the whole ship in a tizzy with these false alarms."

"Aye captain, I'll look into it again. These things take time, particularly since we're not sure what's causing it."

"Don't make excuses," he warned her, then made a dismissive gesture as he got to his feet. "I'll come along. I'd like to be the first to know if we'll have to find a new head of the department." In a lower voice, likely directed at his second command, he added, "I knew a woman wouldn't be up to handling the position. Too busy thinking about babies and whatnot."

Amelie stiffened for a moment, but wisely said nothing. She had worked her whole life for the position, she wasn't going to lose it just because of some chauvinistic captain and her own big mouth, even if she'd like nothing more than to strangle the man. The automatic door to the dining hall whispered open as they stepped out into the hall, the captain just a few steps ahead. Here the lights were flashing red, a steady alarm droning as the computer repeated its message over and over again.

"I'll start at the nearest term-"

A large, blurry shape went flying down the hallway, narrowly passing between Amelie and Locke. The shape smashed into the far wall, collapsing into a pile of limbs and the familiar red uniform of the security officers.

"What the devil's-"

The alarm picked up its urgency as the entire spaceship began listing to the left; Amelie clung onto the terminal and Locke on to her to prevent himself from sliding down the hall, which was now a steep ramp. The squeal of twisting metal rang through the air as the ship continued to tip and then, at the top of the "hall", which was now more like a cliff, appeared...

"Is that a fucking dinosaur?" Amelie screamed, all semblance of professionalism lost.

"Scanning," The creature was peering down at them, tapping terrifyingly large claws against the ship's metal deck in consideration. A loud boom followed by screams rang out from another part of the ship. Then, "Analysis complete, species identified. Earth species, Velociraptor mongoliensis. Would you like more information?"

"NO!" squealed Amelie, as the creature started to ease around the corner.

"V. mongoliensis," droned the computer. "is a genus of dromaeosaurid theropod dinosaur that lived approximately 75 to 71 million years ago during the latter part of the Cretaceous Period-"

"SHUT UP YOU DAMN COMPUTER!"

"Chief Engineer Amelie, I am detecting elevated levels of stress in your voice. Chief Medical Officer Gion recommends a hot bath. Would you like me to run one in your quarters?"

Amelie swore loudly, her waist beginning to ache from Locke's weight.

"Error. Error. Quarters not found. Error."

"What in the hell does it mean, quarters not found?!" barked Locke, who was looking more and more pale by the second.

"Chief Engineer Amelie's quarters are no longer located on this ship, Captain Locke."

Amelie and Locke stared at each other in confusion.

"25% of staff quarters... destroyed. Science Labs four through seven... destroyed... Floor Seven... under... water..." the computer was beginning to slow and slur. A burst of static came through the speakers, then...

"HEJ... WOULD... LIKE... GO... HOME... NOW," roared an unfamiliar voice through the speakers, sounding much like Captain Locke when he was speaking with someone he'd deemed "stupid". "HEJ? HEJ... GO... HOME... SHAMAN... WHERE SHAMAN BUTTON? RØD ONE?"

The voice was then followed by the loud and distinct clattering of several buttons being mashed in unison.

"Hey, what are you doing over-" said someone else, ending in a scream. The ship began to rotate slowly, wobbling a little.

"BLUE ONE?"

The speed of the rotation began to increase. Locke's grip loosened, at the same time as the velociraptor began to slide down the hall towards them. The raptor collided with him, knocking him away from Amelie as Locke and the raptor tumbled down the steep hall. His scream was cut short with a loud crunch as a giant maw appeared from the end of the hall snapping up the raptor and the man in one big bite. Amelie swore.

"Don't tell me-"

"Species identified," slurred the computer drunkenly. "Earth species, Tyrannosaurus rex."

-------------------------------

Thirty minutes earlier

"B-Boss... Boss... BOSS!"

"What is wrong now, Keane?" roared the lead scientist, still peering into his microscope on the other side of the lab.

"It's... she's... I think specimen six is awake, sir!"

"Impossible," snorted Yuri, clicking another slide into place.

"But her eyes are open!"

Yuri stomped across the lab, peered into the stasis chamber, and clicked a few buttons on the panel.

"Must be dreaming," he replied, "You know how weird these fairies are." He tapped another key and then stormed back to where he'd been. "I've upped the dosage of stasis medication. Now quit bothering me."

"S-SIR! HER EYES ARE GLOWING!"

"Now you're imagining things. I swear, Keane, I'm about two seconds away from recommending-"

BOOM!

The heavy shield/front panel of the stasis chamber exploded outwards with tremendous force, slamming into the far wall and ricocheting as a flood of bright blue-green liquid spewed out onto the floor. The woman, still inside the chamber, blinked glowing yellow eyes at the two men.

"S-she's still restrained," said Yuri with a certain level of confidence, though his voice was shaky. This hadn't ever happened before! "Won't be a problem, we'll just get security in here and they'll... take care of things."

He pressed a big red button on the wall, sending the silent summons for the security team. Keane gave a terrified yelp. Snapsnapsnap The heavy chains around the woman's arms and legs snapped like twigs, crumbling uselessly to the ground. She stepped gingerly out of the chamber, eyes still glowing, and bared fangs at the men in something that could be called a grin.

"Hej," said the same woman, apparently in greent. "Hvad er dette?"

"Ma'am, if you'll just step back into the chamber we'll be with you in a moment," Yuri said. The woman's smile collapsed into a frown.

"Hvad... sker... der?" she said it slowly, as if he were an idiot.

"Ma'am, I'm afraid I don't speak... whatever language this is. Could you please just step inside the statis-"

"Nej," she barked sharply. "Who are you and where is my Poppy?"

"Your... your... what?"

"MIN POPPY!" she boomed, and a table nearby tangled itself into a hunk of useless metal. She strode towards Yuri, her voice lower, more threatening now. "If you harm my Poppy... Bad! Bad things!" She looked down at herself, gasping at the distinctly round belly. "SON OF BITCH, I AM FAT!"

She paused, a strange expression on her face. Had the fetuses moved? Her expression was murderous now.

"Am the pergernt fat." the woman murmured slowly, dangerously. It was more a statement than a question.

"Do you m-mean pregnant?" Keane whispered, half-hiding behind another stasis pod. The woman snapped her fingers and nodded.

"Thank, small scared man," she said politely, turning back to point at Yuri and booming: "YOU MAKE ME PREGNANT?!"

"N-n-not me personally," squeaked Yuri, smashing the button harder and harder.

"DID ASK FOR THIS? NO! This bad! I tell goddess-dead-lady on you!"

"If you would just-"

"If you would just," mocked the woman in an obnoxious tone. Several stasis pods burst, a flood of liquid rushing over the floor. From the knee-deep water rose a strange finned creature with many sharp teeth which certainly hadn't been in any pod before. Keane yelped, half-climbing the nearest table.

"Where your bossman?"

"C-Captain Locke is - ma'am, where are you going?"

Bohdi had discovered the automatic doors, stepping in and out of them with interest, before she finally turned back to the scientists.

"I find own way," she said, abruptly cheerful, and disappeared into the hall.

"Where the hell is the security team?!" Yuri snarled, buzzing the intercom repeatedly.

A scream came from the little box, a cacophony of different voices all raised in utter panic. "Bzzt reported on bzzzt is that a bzzt OH MY GOD!"
