The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

His laugh was oddly welcoming. It was a sound she hadn’t heard in quite some time. Her life thus far had been filled to the brim with trials and tribulations, tossing her into situations that most adolescents wouldn’t have made it out of it. Enjoyment and laughter were never really part of the equation.

Yet there was still one singular memory that glowed warmly in the recesses of her mind. A time when she had taken shelter with a small familial pack and reluctantly opened up to one of the daughters. She was kind-hearted, a good soul, someone that was the polar opposite of Ren. Maybe that’s why they had gotten along so quickly. Her purely innocent laugh was the last that she could recall. The memory lingers for a moment longer before Eros speaks.

”Sometimes we’re all just a pawn in someone else’s game,” she answers his rhetorical question whether he desired a reply or not.

As he shifts and emerges from the shadow of the ledge it seems that he’s wanting to meet her on level ground. She’s yet to determine if he is simply brave, respectful, or just foolish. Though he has little to fear from her it’s not clear that he is aware of that. Her posture and overall appearance is rather domineering and often taken as a threat despite her approach.

”Who I am changes as fluidly as the wind through the trees,” she vaguely alludes to her past before pausing briefly. ”No.” A true answer is given at the end. She won’t indulge him on the details unless he asks for them. In her mind there’s never a need to give out any more information than necessary.
