Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

Rougaru watches the painted mare that he had once held close as any friend. Their relationship then had only been just blossoming, but even now those memories begin to flood back through his mind. She takes his words in, the mere flick of an ear the only sign that she had taken those words to heart. For a moment he wonders if she will continue to berate him, if she would continue to meet his gaze with cold eyes of indifference or if there might be some hope for a lost friendship to rekindle. In the silence he mulls over his thoughts, mulls over what words he might say that would bring that light back to her eyes and that playful smile upon her lips. For a moment he wonders if all hope might be lost, but finally she does speak.

She does not smile as she once had, her eyes do not brighten as they used to at his words but well, could he really blame her? Of course the wolf thought so but he shoves the beast away. This old friendship already hung upon the edge of a precipice and he was not yet ready to see it buried beneath the thick black sinews of darkness. There were enough out there to hate him without adding her to the list too.

She thanks him for his protection here and he does not immediately respond, instead his proud head dips in acknowledgment and once more the ghostly form of a smile slides across his whiskered lips. There was hope at least.

However as she begins to tell him of what brings her to his shores, the smile disappears and instead is replaced with thin lipped reserve. Emerald green eyes glitter in the bright morning light as he tenses. He had no love for Cullen or the band of men that followed him. He respected him, as a warrior but his way of life was no one he believed in any longer. At one time, he had been a bachelor stallion. Carefree and wild. He had lived with other bachelors but not like the men that followed at Cullen's heels. Something about him left the wolf on edge.

Hairs prickle along his spine now as Indira mentions Raider's name. Nostrils flare wide as he does his best to maintain the control that often times he found himself struggling over. Ears fall backwards as he fixes Indira with a steady gaze, his emerald eyes flaming. "Raider and I have unfinished business. My daughter Solaris... her disappearance revolves around him and he hides behind Cullen to avoid my questions." he breathes letting the rage dissolve with a single heavy breath. "I am sorry that you found yourself victim to these times. I had thought Cullen a warrior, but a warrior does not send his men to raid those facing war. It is cowardly." he murmurs, jaws clenching as he casts his gaze towards the distant shores. "However, I cannot yet cut my ties with him. He is Warsaw's family and through Warsaw a worthy alliance for my herd and my family. I do not trust him to look after his allies but I would not prefer him an enemy. You understand this yes?" he asks glancing back at her with a heavy gaze. "I can promise you at least, that you are safe here for as long as you wish to be. I will not stop you if you decide to flee these shores and never look back but..." he murmurs taking a single step towards her.

Thick muscular neck stretched out towards her, paper thin nostrils drinking in her estrogen sweet scent and savoring the variety of flavors that cling to her skin. He does not quite bring his lips to touch her skin, but instead lingers a hair's breadth from her small charcoal muzzle. "Raider cannot hurt you here. No one can." he murmurs, his emerald eyes soft...
