Use caution when the wolf comes knocking;

There was a time, far in his distant past, when the wolf found himself enjoying the chill of winter. In those days, he had run wild and carefree through the conifer woodlands, howling his joy to the full moon and reveling in the life of a loner. In those days, he had been young and full of boundless energy. However since his claim upon the jungle island of Atlantis, Rougaru found he no longer cared much for the deep snow drifts or conifer forests. The twisted hidden pathways and dense emerald growth had taught him much of stealth and cunning. The forests of the high country taught him to be boisterous and demanding of his wishes. The jungle was teaching him quickly, that to gain success one must be a bit more tactful.

These days he lacked much in the course of winter coats, what did remain was much thinner than the one he had once grown. Despite himself he feels the chill of winter on the main island but that does not stop his pursuit. Always he reminded himself the warmth of his Paradise was not far behind him.

However as he watches the golden dove before him, she seems as comfortable in the snow and ice as himself on the sandy beach and humid labyrinth of Atlantis. She moves with the grace and easy of a dolphin dancing through the ocean's current. Her bright blue eyes blink brightly at him, her golden form silhouetted against the last rays of orange and red sunlight. She speaks, her voice bright and melodious as the lyrical nightingale that sang it's melodies high above the tree branches of the jungle. A gentle smile plays upon his lips in response, multifaceted eyes of emerald bright with a renewed interest. Such optimism was a welcome reprieve to the pessimistic mares he generally found himself in the company of. "Your words are true enough my dear. Though I doubt even the sun can shine as brightly as you do in such dull hues of winter." he purrs, his own tones graveled and thick. A roguish grin plays upon his lips as thickly muscled neck arches, proud skull dipping to resettle the unruly cream and caramel colored locks of his mane that seemed forever determined to hide her golden form from his roaming eyes.

She comments on his rugged appearance and to this even the beast finds amusement released in the form of a warm chuckle. "You are quite an observant little bird." he beings, pausing a moment to tilt his head towards her, "There are many islands beyond this one. The island of Atlantis holds my own herd in Paradise. I quite enjoy protecting what is mine. Though the skirmishes do tend to leave me tender a day or two. Interested in tending my wounds are you? he teases laughing playfully before continuing again. "My name is Rougaru." he breathes, pausing once more to offer her an exaggerated sweeping bow. Unlike him, but something about her energetic personality brought the playful banter in him now. "But now I am at a disadvantage little dove, for now you know my name, but I have yet to know your own." he adds with a mischievous wink, thick whipcord flicking idly back and forth against muscular flanks as he settles easily into conversation with the golden woman.
