PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

i’m on fire, again
It puts her at ease to hear his response. He does not judge her vulnerability, but listens and accepts it, and Rhadra feels the last vestiges of her anxiety drain away from her. It has been so hard being alone. Being near Kestral —and, by extension, Keen, though she will never be able to claim to be close to the bird he shares so strong a bond with— is like being with a herd, and to share his company restores her confidence and faith in her own abilities as an individual.

“I believe this is where I’m meant to be,” she replies with a small smile. “I met another from the Peak, after you— a mare whose name I did not catch. But, there is a herd here, right? A full band of horses with whom we’ll winter?” She is hopeful for more company, starved for socialization. Even if it means being barrel to barrel with fertile mares while her own belly remains slim and empty. It has to be worth it. Perhaps she can reunite with the mare who made it a point to act as sentry in the Falls, and apologize for her abrupt departure— explain the pain in her heart with as much openness as she has now with Kestral.

All that for later, however. For now she looks further up the mountain, then shakes out her thickening coat. “Would you like to climb higher with me? I wasn’t ready, before, but now...” Rhadra grins. “I want to see it all. The range as I walk it, and the land revealed below.”

Rhadra
