Merlins are a success story.
After the banning of DDT, they have made a good comeback.
They also have shown good adaptive behaviour in being able to live near humans. At one time they probably didn't as they would be shot. The same is true of Mourning Doves. These days most Doves aren't being shot at around here. Urban Doves are quite tolerant of people.
I think that people feeding birds also has helped increase the Merlin's urban food supply. Replies:
