Why he continued to make the swim back to Crossing during the winter season, Ailill really had no good answer for. There was just always something that called to him. On the island there was always something new to see that would soothe his restless nature for a time. Once more he pulled himself out of the chilly water and into the cold air. Shaking himself free of most of the moisture he was glad his thin coat at least would not stay wet for too long, and it would warm quickly once he returned to his beloved tropical island. Even with his dislike of the snow and cold, he could not help but admit it was a beautiful scene, and to him a novelty. Shaking again to rid himself of more water, and to keep himself a little warmer, he took off along the trails of Crossing.

Usually he kept to the Falls or the Meadow, enjoying talking to others who had just come to talk and be for a while. They were places to play and get to know others from the different islands. When he had been younger his mom had taken him out for exploring, but even she had been careful to ignore the Common. Curious, he decided it was time for him, after so long, to come see what all the noise was about. Without another thought, he trotted pleasantly into the open expanse. It was not long before he noticed another horse acting rather strangely with a tree. Curious and forever friendly, the pale stallion trotted over to the other, forgetting all concerns he had about this place.
