Matianak knew what she wanted in the world. For all her sly words, potentially underhanded actions, even being in the right place at her desired time, she knew what she wanted. The end of Underidge, the end of Umbra; her half-siblings never stepped in her way, so she had little to worry over with Natiya and Blackthorne. If anything, the grey woman and her brother complemented each other quite well for all their differences. She reveled in moments like these. Words could cut as deeply as fangs.
Her sire's fear was as palpable as the blood trickling down the side of her head. Still, she smirks. Underidge may believe her unworthy of taking his life, but she disagreed. There was a time and place for everything. It simply had been determined that this was not the time. No, Matianak imagined his death would come after Eden left this world, whenever that might be. That didn't change the fact she had no issue taking a bit or two out of him. It was time for him to step down, and the battle would be hers. That feeling burned deep within her core.
When he did not shy away, she felt her teeth sink into his foreleg. She ripped and tore at the impact point on his upper leg; let him walk out of here limping she thought. Yet the adrenaline spike at the taste of his blood had caused her to lose sight of defense for that same moment. Matianak would be limping away from this fight as well, but in far higher spirits. No cry or whine escaped her as he found the soft flesh. She did not let him keep his teeth there so long that she would be unable to bear weight on the leg, quite gracefully staggering backwards as he turned and darted to the trees.
She stood there with a wry smile on her face. It was quite a sight to see blood staining her light coat, but it strangely suited her. For all her words, Matianak's fangs willingly backed them up. She just rarely needed to do so.
Let him chase after his (willingly) deposed leader. A new era was rising, and this was only the beginning. The battle was won, but the war had just started. "Don't you see, the Shade will never call my name, not to you at least," she said with a surprising calm about her, adrenaline and all. Matianak may have said the words out loud, but by the time she did, Underidge would have been too far away to hear them.
