Stay wild, Moon Child

She walked in moon dust,
but stars were sprinkled in her hair.

Feray kept an even gaze on Solomon, and if it wasn't obvious before of her dislike for his presence it would become even more apparent as he opens his mouth to berate her choice to swim here in the harshest time of winter given her current condition; even more to insult her friend Xiomara. It was not her will for Feray to actually become this desperate for an alliance to risk something so precious, but Feray knew her body's limits just as any other mare did. Deep down she knew she and her foal would be fine. Feray gives him one last scathing look, word's leaving her mouth that sound almost commanding or perhaps a warning for the male to back off now and leave her be. She had no time to butt heads with another lead.

"I do suggest you keep your curious nose where it doesn't belong."

Nzingha pushes between them then, potentially keeping the pair from going back and forth for too much longer. Feray gives herself a moment to collect herself, a heavy sigh leaving her strained lungs that suddenly felt as though she had the heavy weight of her tossing foal upon them. She had let him get herself overly worked up, had let his measly words get under her skin and rub her the wrong way. Feray knew she had much better control than this, deciding then it was just her hormones working into overdrive to protect those she considered dear to her.

At Nzingha's words Feray gives her a small polite nod, inwardly happy her first claim had won out so easily. As far as Feray knew, Xiomara did not need fighters. She just wanted to add to her small herd of horses, and perhaps Nzingha was the perfect wisdom the shore queen needed after the battles that had taken place as of late. It wouldn't hurt for one to clear their head and heart of things that weighed heavy on ones chest. Despite being giddy on her win of the other mare's approval and eagerness to set off already Feray waits patiently Nzingha questions Solomon on his leadership. Her words were one to take into consideration, Feray ponders to herself, but then her friend is done speaking and Feray knows she if can't sway the mare to leave now they may be here forever with whatever Solomon will probably retort with. Let them visit again on their own time, Feray has business to attend to.

"Nzingha," Feray carefully pushes the name through her lips so not to butcher it, "the weather is due to turn soon and i would like to get to where we're going before that happens." She doesn't try to force the mare to go, more like suggesting, to get them in the right direction. Peering around the darker mare she fixes her cold yet warm gaze on Solomon.

"It has been such a pleasure to meet you Solomon of the Cove. May our paths cross again sometime, " or never, she utters in her mind, but was determined to uphold a friendly disposition in front of Nzingha. Shifting her weight around, she makes to move off toward the shoreline yet lingers in case Nzingha had anything else to say.
