YOU CAN'T SHAPE ME

Liland thinks he has left them alone, but he, in fact, has not. As Zjeena left for Paradise, to grieve the separation of her children, and worry over the autumn to come, Liland sat on his throne in the Bay, telling stories about Zjeena and her choices. He put the blame for their situation squarely upon her shoulders, and told their children that they never needed to be parted in the first place. For this, Zjeena hasn't seen their son in months. Havelle is friendly but withdrawn from her. When they met on the shores of the Bay, and Zjeena's gut twisted with regret, Liland looked upon her unwilling face and took her anyways.

There was no love in him then. There was never any love in Liland, except maybe for himself.

Zjeena was so naive. She was soft and caring. Her heart bled for all those around her, including Liland. And he took advantage. He took her fragile heart and crushed it under his heavy hoof. He made no effort to hide his motivations or apologize, until now. Now that Zjeena holds the cards of his fate, he begs for her forgiveness, but instead of taking full responsibility, he still attempts to place the blame on some other mare. Liland will never change.

Even now, as she carries his foal in her womb, payment for her end of their bargain, and a battle has been won to separate them under the eyes of island law, Liland still shows up on the shores of Paradise, begging to be a part of her life for even longer. Who is it that can't let go? It's not Zjeena chasing Liland across the seas.

If Zjeena didn't know Liland so well, she might feel sorry for him. She might give in to his desperate pleas, but it is too late for Liland. He has already been given inch after inch and taken mile after mile. Zjeena is fresh out of giving. "I'm sorry Liland. We are through. You have used me enough and I won't have it anymore." The little mare's ears press back and she shakes her head. "When this foal is old enough to make a swim, they may visit you if they so choose, but I will not live with you in the Bay and you will not be welcome here in Paradise." It is time they all be done with each other. The fallout of their failed romance has lasted for far longer than the initial romance. It's time to put an end to all of it. "I cannot speak for Grier. I will tell her that you requested to meet your child. If she chooses to meet you outside of Paradise, or return to you in the Bay, then that is her choice. You will not visit them here."
