This Won't Get Better; Everest

So, after her earlier escapades with Thea and finding a dress for the coronation it turned out the actual ceremony was kind of… dull. Well the whole vision thing before the actual ceremony wasn’t boring but it wasn’t fun either. The ceremony itself was a snooze. This was meant to be a celebration, right? Yet here she was watching Tris get a crown plonked on his head followed by some fancy words. She got that this was a good thing, it had been the whole point of the woods and the fighting and everything else. Just, did she have to stay still this long? Was she meant not to snicker at Tris looking all weird and polished after months in the forest? Cause there was no way that wasn’t happening. She tried to stifle it at least as she awkwardly fidgeted. The cheering thing, she was up for that though. Whooping, cheering, drinking, partying that was how you were supposed to celebrate.

This was what she was here for; the party bit. Also supporting Tristan, but that was given. The party was the bit worth sticking around for. Free booze and entertainment and she got to wear a dress where her boobs looked amazing. This part was not awful. She knew Tahl was around somewhere and she’d have to bother him later but first she was going to make sure she got to drink before someone gave her that ‘glare’. At some point she should probably bother Tris as well, though he was kind of in demand right now so maybe later. Thea was also probably being busy and pretty and wanted and all that nonsense.

Never mind Bryar could manage on her own especially when there was plenty of free drink and food floating around. It certainly made a change from the lifestyle she was used to, still she wasn’t entirely certain she’d be happy swapping the forest for this nonsense. Like all things wouldn’t it get boring after a while? The clothes would become cumbersome as well. As much as she liked this particular dress, she certainly wouldn’t enjoy this faff all the time. It was rather a lot of effort just to celebrate and enjoy a good drink, wasn’t it?

The whole celebration thing was fun though, faff or not. Plenty of the smiling faces and the twirling dancers she didn’t know. There were faces around though that she recognised, even changed as they were after leaving the forest. It was with a rare kind of delight she recognised a face that she knew from elsewhere. With no shame she let out a loud wolf whistle, that probably attracted more than the one stare but it was only the one she was after. “What are you up to? Is your finest circus not performing tonight?” Bryar grinned, the rest of the circus could of course be here for all she knew, the whole of Shaman seemed to be. “Let me guess, you came for the pretty girls?” said with a laugh, “There are many of them about.”
