Hi everyone! We would like to announce a couple of upcoming changes and additions to the game. We have had these planned for a little while, but given that we have seen the issues at hand mentioned a few times among players, we wanted to put out a preliminary announcement to let you all know what we have planned.
1) Thanks to the huge activity surge we have seen recently, new (or old, depending how long you’ve been around) territories will be available for claim as soon as we have time to edit the layout to accommodate them. One territory will be added per existing island, and will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. In character, as before, you can consider this an adjustment of existing territory borders, based on the increasing population of the islands, rather than any physical change in the land.
2) As of now, the rules will be changed to limit territory ownership to a maximum of two territories per player. We removed the territory limit some time ago when the site was less active, to prevent dead territories, but given the amount of new and returning players we have seen over the past few months, we are reinstating this limit to allow more people to have the chance to play with territories.
3) If anyone owns more than the limit of two territories per player currently, they will now not be able to claim or challenge for any more. As soon as they lose or give up ownership of one of their territories, they will from that point onwards not be able to regain or claim any more territories above the limit.
We do not have an exact date for these changes, but we are working hard to get the site up to date and develop new additions at the same time, and it shouldn’t be too much longer. We will post an announcement in the Discord and on the OOC board when the territories go live.
We would also like to let you all know that there will be an official discussion coming soon, where we will have a few points and suggestions that players have brought up over the past couple months for us all to debate and see whether we can come up with viable improvements for the game.
