PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Ain't life just awful strange

a new world hangs outside the window
beautiful and strange
it must be I've fallen awake
I must be

It felt strange to think too long and hard about Diamant. Wasp had met her sire exactly once - in the Inlet - shortly after she was born. Even then, as a fluffy filly, she resembled him more than her mother. And even then, Wasp's interest in her father was half-hearted at best.

She remembers being skeptical, unsure even, to meet him. But Macabre stressed that it was important, so begrudingly, she did as she was told. Even as a child, Wasp knew something was wrong about their uneven family dynamic. Why was he here in the Inlet when they were in the Peak? None of it made sense. The large, dark stallion seemed like a recluse, or something, or at least that's what Wasp was able to surmise from the experience now that she was an adult and could look back.

But she really didn't like looking back. Diamant was a grown stallion. He had a choice to be a part of her life, and he chose not to be. That's all Wasp needed to know.

She snorted once, as she let these thoughts flee from her mind. Her amber gaze settled back on Adelheid. Two dark ears flicked forward as she explained how they grew up together, but Wasp was feeling more and more uneasy the more they talked about Diamant. Her jaws clenched and she let Adelheid's explanation pass by without anymore questions. She didn't want to know anything else. But there was comfort in realizing that he had also been seemingly estranged from Adelheid and her family. It wasn't just her he chose to abandon in this way.

Wasp breathed a great sigh as their conversation turned to more important matters. She bobbed her head in confirmation as Adelheid commented on her long-winded explanation. It was a journey to get someone new caught up on all that had happened in recent years. But her amber eyes narrowed as Adelheid hinted at the future of the Peak's leadership. In all honesty, Wasp hadn't thought about it at all. It was difficult to imagine someone else in charge, in the absence of her mother. She didn't like it. "I'm sure someone will step up eventually." She quipped.
