With a nod and a promise Mjöllnir enters the turbulent waters of the ocean. He has grown stronger and with each passing day he feels the call to return to the Ridge and visit his family who remain on Atlantis. With even strokes he pushes himself through the waters and into the sea, each strike brings him away from the Peak and to the Ridge.

He keeps his glacial blues focused on the distant horizon and even with the ocean's currents, he keeps his body angled toward the familiar shores. The sun beams down on him as finally Atlantis looms ahead and his heart quickens in his chest. Finally the sea floor rises to meet him and with solid earth beneath him, he stumbles on shaky legs from the sea and onto the sandy shore. Water runs in rivulets down his side as his gaze travels the length of the shore, but linger on a growing group of horses. He tilts his crown and with a shake of his body wills his jello legs toward the throng.

With each stride he can feel the blood course through his legs and finally he can feel his feathered legs once again. His eyes are instantly drawn to the prone form on the sand and his breath catches in his throat. Was she de.. de..dead? he stammers to himself. He slows as his blood runs cold and the realization sinks in. He wills his legs to move him forward as he swallows the growing lump in his throat.

He clears his throat as he draws closer and his glacial eyes focus on the newborn. How would she ever survive without a mother? "Is she gonna be okay?" he asks as his eyes move from the newborn to the adults who have gathered around her.
