Grab me by my ankles
I've been flying for too long

Olive was delighted, enjoying the man as much as the dance; it didn't hurt that his admiration of her dress was obvious enough to give her a little thrill of pride. Olive might have been raised in rural village for sixteen years, but that didn't mean she didn't know her stuff. Especially since they'd come to Shaman, she'd devoured every possible book and magazine; her daughter was eagerly following in her footsteps, to the point Olive was sure Effie's skills would exceed hers nearly any day now.

"A pleasure," she replied to his introduction, and she meant it. It wasn't every day she met someone like Zhenya - she had a feeling there weren't many like him out there these days. Olive's thoughts derailed abruptly at his question about Blue, surprising a laugh out of her. It sparkled in her eyes, in her face, as they spun.

"I'm pretty curious about what shade of red he'd turn if he could hear you." she admitted playfully, then beamed again with pride. "Oh yes, that would be me. He's usually good about letting us dress him up, at least. He does have a fine form, after all." She wiggled her eyebrows at Zhenya, grinning.

Olive laughed again as the dance drew to a close, accepting his elbow. "I completely agree. If we left him to his own devices all he'd do look after other people," Olive sighed, sounding rather maternal, and rested her free hand on his arm to give him a warm, affectionate little squeeze. "Do shake him up a bit, will you?"

She beamed at Blue as they approached. "Blue, honey, close your mouth," she teased, and Blue blushed lightly. "Zhenya, this is Blue; Blue, Zhenya. Now, do this pregnant woman a favor and dance with him, will you?"

"D-dance?" Blue repeated, fully aware Olive was ignoring him. Her face had lit up the way it only did when Grayson was in sight, craning her neck slightly to get a better look at him.

"Oooh, you'll have to pardon me, I've got a man of my own to enchant," she said, pressing an affectionate kiss to Blue's cheek and patting Zhenya's arm once more. She sent him a wink over her shoulder as she disappeared into the crowd. "Have fun!"

Blue cleared his throat a bit awkwardly, running a hand over his hair. "We'd better dance," he said, and finally a spark of his own flickered through his shyness. "Or she'll give me an earful later. Or... we could get a drink?"
