The waterfall was entrancing, keeping her mind off of deeper problems. Ones that had caused her to leave her parents and come here again. She didn’t know why she kept being drawn back to the islands. She had been born here, left, come back, only to leave again. Yet, here she was all over again. There had to be a reason that she couldn’t stay away. What that reason was, she wanted to find out, but lets be honest, Audie was afraid of it. She was not one to face her fears, rather, leave them as they are and never return. But she couldn’t help wanting to be here, for whatever reason that may be, she’d see it though. Eventually, she’d really know.

She hadn’t yet let her heart begin to venture into the realm of love. Because, well, it was pointless, right? She had seen the heartbreak that would cross her mom’s face, when she wasn’t able to convey how she felt about Audie’s father, or how she would sulk when he’d spend time with another in the herd instead. Now that’s not to say her father didn’t love her mother, she wasn’t one to judge that. Nor was she one to judge their relationship at all, but she herself, had never opened up her heart for the possibility of it, for the fear of breaking was greater than the hopes of happiness.

She tore her eyes from the waterfall for a moment, only to lock eyes with a pale stallion, who, well seemed emotional. Only then he turned his back on her, in a way of shame or something, she wasn’t sure. She sighed, looking to the water, unsure whether or not she should speak up. She doubted she’d approach because lets be honest, she wasn’t the best at socializing. Not a single bit. She lifted her head, turning to look at the stallion once more. Wondering what caused such anguish, but not wanting to butt her head into places that was not hers to deal with. “They say crying is good for the soul, it lets out all the poison, allowing you to bring joy and peace into your life. Although, I’m not sure I believe them, but I’d like to.” She speaks softly, her voice light and airy. Almost breathless in its spoken word.

Do not be ashamed of your tears, it just shows you feel.
