Solomon
Things had changed rapidly on the islands, and not necessarily for the better. Solomon had lost a good portion of his herd to unknown forces and while he could guess at the reasoning for some of them, the rest were unknown. It had put him on edge, especially when his trip to the Dunes had not provided any answers. More questions lurked in Shaydowfax's sudden disappearance.

As was his custom, the tobiano stallion detoured on his path home, choosing to cut across the Common lands before returning to his glacial paradise. He'd done the same on the way to the Dunes, searching for any trace of his missing family to no avail. He no longer expected to find them, but there was often something interesting happening here that was worth his time to interrupt. The spirit obsessed Nzingha and her glass faced companion, Feray, were one of the more interesting combinations he'd happened across, but the interaction with the young Noctis had proved most beneficial. Even though Shenzi was not happy to call the Cove home, the plain brown mare was already a better investment than Coda had ever been.

His pale hooves dug into the sand of the Commons and pulled his lean body ashore. Sunshine had replaced the gloom of the day before and the bright rays glittered across the open span of the Commons. Equines freshly freed from their thick winter coats grouped together in twos or threes, with the odd watchful stallion lurking in the trees. His green gaze slid over all of them appraisingly with little interest, and quickly turned his attention back to the close cropped beach grass as the ocean evaporated from his body.

A vision of gold and alabaster emerged from the waves and his eyes were drawn to her like a magnet. Even setting aside his preference for blondes, she was a gorgeous creature and his gaze traced admiringly up the proud arch of her neck and over the shapely curve of her haunches. By the time his brain caught up and it occurred to him to stop ogling her and to act on his innate desire to possess her, she'd already cast a glance back over her shoulder at the crashing waves.

Solomon offered a nicker toward her as he approached, a slow grin already forming on his charcoal lips. It takes genuine effort on his part to tear his attention from her to scan the treeline for other males that would need to be threatened off, but finds nothing and returns his attention back to the golden vision before him just as he finishes the last few steps.

He is tempted to bridge the gap between them and trace his lips along the sensual expanse of her exposed shoulder blade, but he resists for now. As much as he would like to leave his mark on the flawless expanse of her skin, and perhaps will eventually, he does not want to draw her ire just yet. For better or worse, Coda's defiance has taught him the potential value of a soft approach first. If she resisted, he would force her back to the Cove, where she belonged. But for now, he would try being civil.

"You're probably right." The taut bow of his neck tightens as he offers his muzzle for the quintessential greeting of equines.

"Although I'd be happy to help remove the offending salt from such a pretty girl's coat." The crooked grin returns to spread along his dark lips as he resets to a normal distance. "Does this pretty girl have a name?"

He watches her face closely, gauging her reaction while he waits for her reply. After a beat, he offers his own name. "I'm Solomon, lead of the Cove."
