Re(2): Its All A Question of Perspective

nobody in their right mind would bet into a jackpot that offered no consolation payouts

that wouldn't last long, how long would people keep playing lotteries if there weren't some smaller prizes

can't think of one Pick 5, 6 or higher in the parimutuel industry that pays nothing back unless you have all the winners correct AND are the only winner....nobody would play it, just a few that thought there would be a consolation payback and didn't know the rules, then they stop when they figure out it's different than all the others and feel taken, they would be pissed........

I do know of a Pick 4 at a horse racing venue that has no consolation payout and keeps carrying over until someone has all 4, but it's not very popular, and might already be DOA

The only change I would make to the Jai-5 is when there are multiple winners with 5/5, it could pay back the full amount of $ wagered that day (less takeout rate of course), thus adding nothing to the carryover for that performance, there are some jackpot wagers that work that way. That would effectively double the payoffs for multiple 5/5 winners. There were only 6x where there have been multiple winners so it's not that big of an impact for Magic City to leave it as it is.

So many so called "experts" come out of the woodwork telling someone how they should do this or that and some saying how easy some bets are....and they have little or no experience betting on a Pick 5, Pick 6 or difficult wagers like that. So many experts but so little experience.
