Re(1): Other reasons why MCJA is cool

It's hard not to get excited at MCJA when you see how they are running things and wish so much that Dania and Miami would put the same effort and a similar product with the "real jai alai". I used to watch Magic City jai alai sometimes just for laughs, but all these kids have improved a lot and some show great potential.

I don't particularly support it since I don't bet, but I can definitely see me liking this when I knew nothing about jai alai, and wanting to play it and participate on it and wanting to find out more about jai alai, and eventually trying the real sport. That's pretty much what happened to me almost 40 years ago, I went and I tried the rubber ball for a short time, went on to the plastic ball and finally to the hardball.

I see it as a stepping stone and to generate curiosity and interest, and if this coming tournament is a hit, and they decide to start an amateur program and maybe a school, positive things could start happening. But of course nothing could happen in regards to "real jai alai" if there's no place available to play hardball, so it's hard to blame MCJA when in reality the main frontons are the ones that are killing the real sport with their lack of support for amateur programs, crappy video without innovative "thinking outside the box" ideas, zero advertising and lack of promotions.

Awesome work Stu!
