Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

Going to 'jump ahead' a little time-wise ;)

israfel

Thor watched him, and Israfel felt like he'd started crawling out of his own skin. Was he supposed to say more? Or maybe it had been because he'd said he was his Samia's imprint, or because he hadn't mentioned being her mate. On the outside, he tried to look composed, poised, the pinnacle of coolness, but on the inside, Israfel had well and truly started squirming. Well, at least he had found the right wolf. That was...something, at least.

He wasn't sure how to feel about Thor. Israfel could tell he was polite, but he seemed somewhat...aloof? He had to think about which word best described him, so much so that the both of them tilted their heads at the same time. It made Israfel grin to himself, though he was surprised that Samia's return hadn't made Thor a little more excited. Well, some wolves were just lower energy, Israfel knew that. In any case, Israfel tried his best to remain positive despite his own budding uncertainty.

"Well, we went away for so long. I think she's worried you'll be upset with her over that," he said, looking up at the sky so to not make eye contact - it felt awkward to confess something on behalf of Samia, if he had to be honest. "And...Well, there's another matter..." Now he had really started to squirm. In fact, he practically chewed on his lips, barely able to look Thor in the face. Despite the fact that he thought his very heart my reach out of his own throat and strangle him, he looked Thor in the face nonetheless. "I'm not...Like, I can't be completely sure but...You know! I've always thought Uncle Thor had a ring to it! What do you think?" Israfel laughed hard. It was the kind of laugh that lingered somewhere between 'nervousness' and 'pain.' Why couldn't he have kept his cool? His father would have been able to say it with all the seriousness and reflection it deserved...but not Israfel. That gene had missed him. Instead, he blurted it out and shifted on his paws, all too clearly cursing himself under his breath.

He sighed. He stopped himself completely. He tried to stand up straight, took a deep breath in and looked Thor right in his eyes again. "I don't think I've done this the right way - at all! I want to ask Samia to be my mate, but I want your blessing. I want you in our lives, Thor, and I want you to...uh, well, forgive me for not doing it all sooner," he said with a sharp nod. That was, at least in his own eyes, a much better attempt.
