Rana had dedicated herself to her present cause, so engrossed that she hadn't immediately noticed Sorath at all. Though, even if she had been doing anything else, she would not have expected that she'd been followed. Rana was on top of her own little world.
Eventually though, she caught onto Sorath's presence. She paused momentarily, her ears pushed back as she glared down at the path. When she saw that Sorath was young like she was, she un-tensed her muscles and went back to cleaning her paws. There was something familiar about Sorath, anyway. Rana figured she didn't seem like a threat, like a wolf of Iromar might have been, so she wouldn't chase her away. Perhaps Rana still just hadn't learned enough caution.
Suddenly, Sorath was sitting above her. Rana stopped again, though this time she glared up at Sorath with suspicion. Her suspicion quickly became a sneer though, and she snorted. "I'm cleaning somewhere off of me," she replied with a shrug. She tended to her paws again, though she did not take her eyes off Sorath while she nibbled out a final tangle.
"You've chosen a funny place to sit. You're just going to end up back down there again," she quipped with a flick of her muzzle towards the path Sorath had come from. There was a certain lingering playfulness in Rana's voice, though she hadn't intended for it to be there. Somewhere inside her, part of her wanted to know if Sorath was a potential companion. Ultimately, Rana desired company. She desired more in general, really.
With that, she suddenly stood up and shook her fur out. She stretched, flexed her toes, and then eyed up where Sorath sat. She made her intentions well known - she would climb right up there with her. It was up to Sorath as to whether she'd set that boundary or not.
