Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Their eyes met and Ontari felt a flash of heat in her chest. Blue eyes? She had not expected that. She had expected eyes like fire, yet she had been met with ice. Still, Sorath was undeniably a Demon. Ontari could see it in her face, her fur, her expresion. Ontari moved to match Sorath's posture, her eyes narrowed and lips turned up into a small, challenging grin. Sorath had nothing but Demon blood, but Ontari had more. She had Alpha's blood, too. Ontari swore she could feel it in her veins.

In turn, Sorath matched Ontari. Ontari's ear flicked back at the girl's words, and one corner of her lip pulled back. She tried to keep her face neutral, but her agitation was obvious despite it. "It's only fair we do to you what you do to us," she said with a shrug. Of course, Ontari had no evidence of that at all. In fact, she'd never even been called a real Angel - the 'us' she spoke of simply did not exist. Sorath didn't know that though, right? So where was the harm in making the claim? Sorath had probably lied anyway. Ontari could never imagine somebody like her father doing something like that - even the thought alone made her snort. "At least we don't eat them like certain other clans do," she added, which made her lips curl back up into a grin. That was better!

Still, Ontari wanted to know about the Markings. How had she forgotten that? Then again, it wasn't her fault that Sorath had been...so...so wanting a fight or something. Ontari had just asked her, after all. It was her Demon blood that made her unable to answer back with anything other than lies and deflections. Ontari almost pitied her, but she was young and full of unearned bravado. There wasn't room left for pity.

"Oh well, I guess your markings just mustn't mean anything..." she said with the smallest sigh of disappointment. Maybe that'd work? Maybe if she challenged Sorath just enough...then she'd want to tell Ontari about the markings.
