Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Terra

Something nagged in the back of her head. What in the name of the Goddess was that? Terra enjoyed the comfort of the cool water in the heat. Even though she communicated little with those closest to her (no more than a nod of the head or polite hello if warranted), there was something different in the air that she could not place. Whatever it was, it left her be, so there was no need to seek it out.

After what might have been an eternity and the crowd began to disperse, Terra took this moment to slip away quietly. Her dark and golden fur was soaked. She looked sleeker briefly given it's longer length. Gods forbid she had a thicker coat with all this heat! She paused for a brief moment to shake herself free of excess liquid before she began on her more typical trek of wandering. Her tail swayed back and forth gently with her steps. It was easy to leave her thoughts to nothing, aware of only her base instincts for survival. There was nothing more than that necessary.

Until that nag in the back of her head came back. Terra's ears laid back briefly. It seemed to have followed her from the river. At first, she could have attributed it to the large group, but it wasn't that. She gave a shake of her head while she remained on her path. There was that feeling of being followed, and rarely did she have that in her gut. Only once had she been stalked by a larger predator, so this made it more disconcerting.

She stopped abruptly. Her ears twisted and turned as she sought the source without directly looking. If Terra turned her head to much, then that might reduce her ability to get away. She was poised to bolt if something more sinister had followed her. Then there was at prod at the back of her head that told her to stay. She didn't like it. Not even when a voice stated the blatantly obvious. That made whatever this strange prod was hit her full force.

She narrowed her eyes slightly as she maintained her composure before she finally turned her head to look fully at Kaliban. "Yes, I was there. If you were with others, then go back to them. It's better than following some stranger around like a stalker," she said. Of course, the latter was speculation on her part. It may have been coincidence, or maybe she was lucky with her assessment. Her black, sunburst eyes lingered on Kaliban for a few seconds more before she stepped off again. It was enough time for her to give him a good look over. Bigger than her, albeit a little younger, but nothing she was worried about. Terra might not have brute force and size, but she had long legs and speed on her side if she needed it. If he wanted to follow, she wouldn't stop him. Company was just not her strong suite.
