Hokay so

FINALLY getting to this!

1) Do you feel that the battle ranking system should be altered to be more accessible to new players? If yes, how so?

Yes, but I don't have any super solid ideas on this. I don't think it should be altered too much. I just think it's pretty difficult for someone with a non-confrontational character who doesn't want to stir the pot to achieve a rank that would allow them to relatively safely hold a territory/herd. As I say this, I of course am thinking about how in the wild herds might turn over lead stallions a fair bit. However, I do still think there should be some way to gain experience without constantly picking fights.

2) How would you feel about a "beginner's luck bonus" being offered to unranked characters, giving them an advantage in their first battle (e.g. an extra point/side of the die)?

I'm not a huge fan of this idea. I do like the suggestions others have said of other in-game activities that could give you a bonus in an RP battle. I also think RP battles in general might need a little tweak in order to make it a little more fair. If a rank 3 is going against a rank 1, I feel like the rank 1 has to have a completely flawless post on top of hoping that the rank 3 opponent gets docked at least 3 points. But I imagine that's going to be a future discussion.

3) Do you feel the length of time it takes to reach rank 3 is too long? If yes, what do you feel a reasonable length of time would be?

Honestly, now that you can't get 3 points just from dice-roll practice battles I think this will become less of an issue. It does take a long time to get to rank 3, and you could argue that if you have a rather non-confrontational character who doesn't have anything that other characters want, they would only be getting 1 point a month. For awhile it felt like there were several rank 3 characters who'd ranked up relatively quickly through those 3 practice battles but it seems like things are evening out with the influx of new characters. I like the idea of maybe earning 2 points from practice, but one battle has to be RP so it's not so easy.

4) Do you feel that dice roll battles should be altered (e.g. count for less exp)? How do you feel about dice rolls for practice? Do they add anything to the game, or should they be nixed?

I like dice roll battles. I think alteration of points should depend on the stakes of the battle. I don't like the idea of 0.5 points just because I think it'd get annoying to keep track of. I do like dice roll battles for practice. I've seen several people write soreness, wounds, etc. into their posts after they do a dice roll practice battle so I do think people are using them to further character development.

5) Should characters be allowed to take on more challenges per season than the current limit allows, as long as they are willing? If yes, how should this affect exp limits?

I do think they should, because I think where a lot of frustration in gaining experience has come in is that people don't know what to challenge for. Yes you can challenge for a someone's freedom, but if there are only (x) amount of stallions or mares that have claim to other horses, eventually you still run out of options. I think allowing anyone with a herd (ie, second stallions) to be challenged would also help this.

6) How would you define a "co-lead"? How should we classify them, for the purpose of leader-specific rules regarding battles/raids/territories, etc?

Pfffff my brain just failed. I don't have a good definition for co-lead, but I like Sabrina's definitions.

7) Should co-leads/queens/consorts/companions count as high-stakes in battles where they are being challenged for, since the actual territory owner/boss/prime minister is protected from being challenged for, but co-leads and other elite ranks have no such protection? Or should they remain low-stakes, since they are only one "thing" being challenged for?

True co-leads yes, but not just "figureheads" like queens with no actual herd leader powers.

8) Should co-leads be eligible for being challenged to a battle even if the territory owner has already been challenged for the season, or should they be protected from this as part of the privilege of being a co-lead?

I think I touched on this earlier, but anyone with a claim to a mare/stallion should be able to be challenged. I think it would open up a lot more opportunities for challenges to happen.

9) Should co-leads be required to share posting duties with the territory owner in order to keep the territory active? If yes, how would you suggest this be enforced, and what what type of co-lead should be count toward this (i.e. just full co-lead, or should queens/consorts/figureheads be applicable as well)?

No

10) Should co-leads count toward the player territory limit? I.e. if a player has two characters who are co-leads, should they not be allowed to claim a territory? If yes, how would you suggest this be enforced, and what type of co-lead should be count toward this (i.e. just full co-lead, or should consorts/figureheads be applicable as well)?

I agree with you guys; co-leads to me are like lagoon/peak leaders. They were appointed to their position by the territory leader, so it should not count.
