Today the Eastern Black Swallowtail butterfly emerged from the chrysalis.
The chrysalis turned black and I thought it was dead until I squeezed it gently to feel movement.
My family took pictures and sent it on its way outside. I had accidently found the caterpillar in the carrots my neighbours gave to me which were in the fridge. I thought I could take care of it and see what happened. I kept it in a shed outside all fall and winter. I am happy it was a successful experience! Replies: There have been no replies.
