The A's started Medivacs in 65 when we flew the Coc - Pce route during confrontation. The Nurses positioned at But by civil and travelled with the patients on the return flight. We had slip crews at But during this time however we got all home for Christmas 65.I was on the Dec 65 crew then again in Jan and Feb66. The slip crew at But would meet the incoming Aircraft with a coldie for takeover as we flew alternate days in theatre. As there was no slip crew to meet the early Jan arrival the Nurses who had already arrived met us with the drinks.
