PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

path of the viper

Nattergal left the bay full of ambition. He took wing and his lungs filled with free air. He was finally free of Liland and he could see his future, an endless expanse of possibilities, spread before him like the broad horizon. But such freedom was only temporary. Soon, he found himself caught in someone else's net, and the brightness of his future is snuffed out once more.

Once full of ambition, Nattergal is again, full of bitterness. As the scowls of their prison wardens fade to indifference, Nattergal's scowl remains. Liland is gone, so he can no longer anticipate the taste of sweet revenge. When he could be learning from seasoned warriors in the Lagoon, Nattergal is stuck here, his talents stifled by the mares of the Peak.

Nattergal had just joined the bachelors to learn. He had no quarrel with these mares, and yet they treat him like a criminal. Natteral won't soon forget how long they keep him chained to this mountain. The prime of his youth slips away under their watch.

Bran seems to be handling his entrapment better than Nattergal. Nattergal doesn't understand how he can be so calm. No individual mare is nearly so aggravating as Liland but their situation isn't improved from days gone by when they were stuck in the Bay. They're stuck. They may be stuck on a different rock, for a different reason, but they are stuck all the same, and Nattergal doesn't do well feeling stuck.

The bitter young stallion browses the dry mountain grasses, pulling up alongside his brother. A familiar silence settles between them. There isn't much to talk about these days. They haven't seen any place beyond the Peak or met any new faces. They stare at the same gray walls, making the motions of the same gray routine.

How long can it last? Not much longer for Nattergal.
