Just to add to what Lance has said. I personally believe that service in the ADF, in whatever capacity, is deserving of recognition. As Lance has said many never were posted to serve in an active conflict, not because they did not volunteer to do so which we all did when signing on, but because they were needed in what ever capacity they were employed to support the whole of the service. Many "gongs" have been awarded to individuals when the reality is that they really should have gone to a group. Any Leader, in what ever capacity or group, is only as good as the troops over whom he, or she, has control. I value both my R.A.S. and the Defence Veterans Badge equally. Replies:
