I must have known about these things they call lies

She could feel his eyes hot and hungry upon her as she danced away from him, her intricate movements doing precisely as they were designed to do. Ensign adores these games of flirtation and flattery because even the most seasoned of stallions will always readily play them. The lithe, golden mare could see that Solomon was no green colt, and she suspected a stallion of his caliber had an entire harem at his disposal. So she savored this moment where she captured and held his full attention, keeping it close in her mind as a token that might sustain her for the days to come when he was inevitably too preoccupied with the needs of the rest.

He answered her impossible question simply and it brought a wide smile to her face as he laughed and leapt toward her, finding moments to press against her narrow frame where he could—shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip. It was an electric touch, and with these brief points of contact she can feel the power beneath his skin. He was strong, capable, most certainly able to protect her and maybe even a hundred more mares. Oh what a sight that would be!

“Oh you are a homeowner,” she gushed, despite finding nothing shocking about his statement. In either case, she loved to hear that her fantasies of Solomon the King of Wherever might soon become reality. He would do well to protect her from the impending danger she faced, should anyone learn her true identity. Even though she cannot escape the practicality of attaching herself to Solomon for protection, it was not just this fact that appealed to her. A home just full to the brim with other mares and their children was a fantasy in its own right.

He inquired about her in return as they slowed to a more conversational pace, and for a moment her amber eyes flick away. Ensign, having grown up in a herd consisting only of her two parents, often dreamed of plentiful companionship. For the longest time in her youth, she selfishly begged for siblings to play with. It was then she learned that this could never be—that the three of them being together was already too much of a risk. Such a thing was never meant to last.

“I have always wanted a large family,” she settled on stating, her eyes fluttering back to him. “Growing up, it was only my mother and I—and my father for a time.”

Ensign paused, realizing it best to steer the conversation away from her father and back to him. “Do you have much company in your home?”
