His future was still uncertain but Akello didn't want to think about that right now. He didn't know if he would stay in the Desert once he turned two or if he should talk to his parents about getting out of Salem and seeing more of the islands. Should he see if another herd stallion would take him in or should he continued training with his own father? He had nothing about Cain and really looked up to his father. He felt like he'd learned a lot already and never passed up an opportunity to watch the large draft stallion bonding with his herd. He liked that his mother was back, too. Seeing Vihaan with Cain again made his own chest tighten with happiness. He only hoped it stayed that way.

But the waterfall was distracting so he shook the rest from his thoughts. No, he needed to understand this magical thing! Where was its source? Where was it going? Could he touch it? He took a hesitant step closer then stopped. He didn't even notice the mare until he heard a hoof slap on rock. Jolted out of his trance, he snapped his gaze around to the golden mare who seemed to be making her way down the ledges by the waterfall itself. It seemed like a feat in itself and he glanced down at her hooves in question as if to make sure she wasn't just stepping on air. When she spoke, his gaze shot back up to meet her own, his lips curling into a sheepish smile himself as she asked if he'd ever seen anything like it, but she said it like she already knew the answer. The colt shook his head as his ears flicked back with embarrassment.

"There's definitely nothing like that on Salem, not that I've seen anyway. What is it?" He wondered if she knew, his eyes widening with curiosity as his ears pricked toward her in wonder.
