Upjohn Nature Reserve

I've been having a lot of fun monitoring Upjohn Nature Reserve during the past month. Lots of interesting fauna and three baby Great Blue Herons make for some pretty interesting views.

I've managed to ID Eastern Commas, Striped Hairstreaks, Northern Pearly-eyes, and some other butterfly species. There has been Hudsonian Whitefaces, Amber-winged Spreadwings, several Common Green Darners, and several other dragonfly and damselfly species. I've also been photographing some of the moths there, though I'm not 100% confident on my IDs. I believe I've had White-striped Blacks, Lesser Maple Spanworm Moths, Snowy Geometers Moths, and a couple Fan-foots.

My biggest find so far was a gorgeous Garter Snake who had recently eaten his last meal. Its body was still enlarged from it!

Definitely a great place to get some interesting species at, just bring a bit of bugspray.
