Hello, World

When he asked the mare about her herd lands, she seemed to pause for a moment as if considering. Finally, she admitted it didn't seem any worse physically than the other herds of Salem and if anything, it had more shade. He pricked his ears and listened raptly to her words, taking it all in so he could explore it for himself later. She laughed and the sound brought a whimsical smile to his lips. She had a nice laugh. Then she said he could figure it out for himself when he visited. The idea brought a full-on grin to Akello's face and his eyes lit up. "I will definitely have to make my own judgement call when I come. Maybe I can come up with a better name for it." He said with a sly smirk. When he made his comment about someone overhead watching them, the mare's reaction was puzzling at best. She started to laugh almost to the point of losing her breath and his brow furrowed as he grew concerned for her health, wondering if she had a condition with her lungs or something. Should she really be in a desert environment?

"Gosh, are you okay?!" He asked breathlessly, wondering if he should escort her to some shade or water or something. But then she started to speak again, saying she agreed with him about it being creepy and saying it was a blessing to have met him. The colt felt flattered at the compliment, his eyes widening in surprise as he tilted his head a little. "Well, thank you, I suppose, but I'm rather starting to wonder if the heat's making you loopy." His eyes glittered with amusement as he teased her, hoping she wouldn't be insulted. He liked taking the time to get to know her and the other mares around Salem and hoped this would only continue being easy as he got older and had to think about if he wanted to lead his own herd or not. Shararat tossed her head and ventured deeper into the Desert so he shuffled along right with her, enjoying the nice walk and conversation. She asked if he was born here and he nodded with a smile.

"Yep, my mother's first foal. She was scared to death but my father helped her through it." He enjoyed hearing the stories from Vihaan about her time here and then hearing it from his father's point of view were interesting as well. The black mare spoke of a place called Paradise and started to describe it. The more she spoke, the wider his eyes got as he tried to picture everything she was describing, from the lush trees to the raging storms. She said at the end she missed it and he believed it just from the sad tone of her voice. He reached out gently to nudge her shoulder. "Maybe you can go back? I can even escort you if you want company." He offered, hoping that would cheer her up cause he didn't like to see her sad.
