hold me close in this wild, wild world;

Atlantis was much different from the life that Talien had settled for herself in Tinuvel. While she had not shed a tear or even passing thought at Liland's sudden departure from the islands, her thoughts of continuing their stay in Paradise was beginning to plague her. It was not that she did not enjoy the warmer weather here, nor were the members of the Paradise herd cruel or even particularly nasty to her or her mate and family. However, it was not... home.

She had told herself from the beginning that their stay here was merely temporary. Dex had agreed despite the distrust he felt for the chocolate leader. It was true that she herself shared no love for Rougaru, but well, like with Liland, she shared no feelings towards him whatsoever. He kept to his herd, chasing after his queens and other mares. His offspring seemed to keep him busy enough and there were plenty of them running around. Life was peaceful, but not in the way she had hoped it would be. It contented her, knowing that Dex would not suffer Tinuvel's frozen winter with his ill-prepared winter coat, but well that did not mean that he was completely immune from the discomfort. He did not speak it aloud, in fact, he did his best to hide it from her but she knew. Their relationship was one built deep in the roots of the soul and there was not much if anything that he could keep hidden from her. He was not happy.

Her own discomfort is enough to send her searching for him. Since birth, Chronos has kept them both on their toes when it came to entertaining or keeping him out of trouble. As of late, he had taken up a whole new game of waiting until their gaze was lifted to disappear and she feared that all attempts at remaining hidden in the shadows of the paradise herd might be for naught if the boy continued. That was not to say his mischievous ways were not to be expected. Dex liked to blame her, and she in turn, blame him. So much of them both shown in the boy that she could not help but to beam with pride at the mere mention of his name. No doubt it was Chronos that had Dex out searching the jungle paths.

She does not miss him in the shadows of the jungle's dappled sunlight. His deep russet coat gleamed with a healthy glossy sheen in the emerald green landscape. His emerald green eyes are intent as he bends his muzzle to inhale a deep breath of a particular trail. A mischevious smile curves across her own lips as she leaps towards him, stretching her golden neck to let ashen lips tug at his tail playfully. "Gotcha!" she teased, nickering in amusement as she brushes against his coat, finding a satisfying pleasure in the familiar quicken of her heartbeat and hunger that burned in her belly. Pale silver blue eyes glimmer as she offers him a smug grin a single dial tilting towards his handsome face. "You seemed so preoccupied lately it's almost not even a challenge trying to scare you." she teases flicking his hip with her chocolate colored tail.
