It took very little time at all for Nadine to decide she liked Cain. Not that she was surprised, the way Berit talked about him, but her anxiety over meeting him melted away and she smiled brightly as he greeted her. ”Hello, I-“ she began, but her attention was drawn to Cain’s stomping hoof and the black colted who darted around him. ”Oh!” she exclaimed warmly. She didn’t flinch away from his bold approach, but she did pull her muzzle back slightly to avoid being bonked. Once Carbon stopped moving so much, with the help of Berit pulling him back just a scooch, she offered her muzzle back to him. ”Well, hello,” she said brightly, not bothered by his invasion of her space. She sent a friendly puff of air at his small dark muzzle, her eyes flickering between him and Vulcan, who was less forward.
”I am Nadine,” she said warmly, turning to exchange breaths with Vulcan as well. She had not forgotten about Cain, but her attention was more easily grabbed by the young colts clambering in front of her. It was hard to pull her gaze away from them, but when Vulcan asked about brothers and sisters, she shot both Cain and Berit a mischievous glance. ”That’s a secret,” she said in a playful almost-whisper. ”I’m not allowed to tell you! It spoils the surprise, you see?” She did not expect them to believe she had information on the matter at all, but she did not want to just tell them no. She remembered being their age and longing for other foals to play with.
Nadine lifted her gaze back to Cain, and Berit as she groomed him. ”I want to hear more about this place,” she said, her head raising from the slightly bowed position she had taken when talking to Carbon and Vulcan. She looked back down at the brothers with a playful gaze. ”I’m sure you two have plenty of stories. Maybe you could show me around sometime?”
