CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. 75th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan)

The Fusilier Museum, Bury will commemorate the 75th anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) with a programme of special virtual events and the launch of a new film Ė The Forgotten Army, Lancashire Fusiliers in Burma.
Events include a special performance from the official band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers and 1940ís singers The Veterans Sweetheart and The Northern Sopranoís. There will also be poetry readings from local army cadets and the Mayor of Bury as well as a viewing of the museumís new film which will be projected onto the side of the building. The museum will then turn red and blue in honour of all the Lancashire Fusiliers who fought so bravely in Burma before finally ending with a short, military ceremony with the lowering of regimental standards and the last post.
All events will be streamed live via the museumís Facebook Page throughout the day. Members of the public will also have the opportunity to make online donations which remains closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Please note the general public are able to attend on the day, however they are strongly encouraged to either watch from a safe distance (Victoria Wood Garden) or on social media platforms as all events will go out live on the day. Anyone visiting must adhere to social distancing and a limited amount of people will be allowed into the Gallipoli Garden at any one time
