He felt regret for not being around as he should have. When his family was split apart, he felt empty inside and went MIA, wandering the free lands and only coming back to his den in Taviora to rest before he set out again. He was restless and couldn't seem to focus on any one thing. He felt a pull to Asteraia but ignored it for the most part, knowing Menkhet would probably just laugh at his broody mood and Bastet didn't need to be burdened with his family darkness. No, this was all on him. But when the stronger pull happened, he couldn't ignore it any longer. He pulled himself to his paws and shook out his coat before lunging forward, racing through the forest with ease and over the borders, heading straight to Asteraia. He knew that something had happened; he just didn't know what. He wondered what he would find himself faced with when he made it to the fields. Had Bastet gotten hurt?
This whole imprint thing was still so confusing to him and his father couldn't explain it since it never happened for him so that was no help. He just needed to know that she was okay. Sometimes he resented that he felt this with Menkhet's sister and not Menkhet herself. She was always his best friend and partner in crime, so why had he been bound to her sister of all wolves? It almost seemed like a punishment, like Fate was throwing it right in his face. But he shoved the thoughts away as the borders of Asteraia were up ahead. He moved along the outskirts of the pack lands, not wanting to full out trespass but knowing at some point, he might have to and face whatever consequences came with it. When her scent met his nostrils, he didn't hesitate to jump over the invisible line and didn't stop running till the den appeared ahead. The unmistakable smell of male stopped him in his tracks though, puzzlement on his features as he looked around for a minute.
He could hear sound within the den but he froze in his spot as understanding hit. His hackles raised and danced along his spine but he held his place, looking around again, knowing the father must be near. If anything, he was probably in the den with her. Clearing his throat, he spoke. "I mean you no harm. I only wanted to make sure Bastet was okay. I...uh, felt her discomfort." He shifted on his paws, his nose wrinkling at the very idea of how that must sound.
