The excitement of this raid did not come from the frightened faces of his victims. No, it came from seeing his new associate revel in his ideals. Seeing Varanduil go along with his plan even if he was nervous or this ‘didn’t feel right’ to him. The sooty palomino almost became someone different with his first charge, but Cullen shook his head at the gentle touch of his brother. Later, he would teach Varanduil he could not always be so soft even if it was a child he was dealing with. He wonders if his new friend’s gentle approach would be more convincing to the young foals, but the freight of the mare was sure to stir fear in them regardless. Cullen was scary enough for the both of them.
Cullen had no more time to waste watching Varanduil’s work as the situation grew dire very quickly. He knew one of the Peak mares would be at his throat to save their friend and frankly he had expected all of them to show at the stink of his smell upon their mountain. Not just one of them could fend him off (except possibly Bozena which he wouldn’t admit) they would need everyone to keep him from taking a prize. The scream of the large Peak General draws his attention like a moth to a flame. He has a full view of Bozena as she barrels down the mountain towards him and Varanduil. Cullen did not partically prepare himself for a real fight here, just a teaser, but seeing how ferocious the Klabstrupper was stired up old feelings. Her day would come soon enough. He would execute her much like he had done Macabre.
Her massive form drives him away from the mare he tries to herd away, but he doesn’t bother with chasing her any longer. At least, no right now. He allows the mare to run closer to the mountain to safety with the children at her side as his focus sets on Bozena and the approaching Wasp. His ears lay tightly against his skull as his snapping teeth of anger is met with her own. Nothing could be felt on his body as longer. Not the cold of the air, or the force of the wind. He only saw Bozena and Wasp and he only heard their voices filling his head. Wasp’s teeth grab a hold of some of his skin as he dodges her. Her words spit venom in his ears to which his snaps back towards the space between himself and both mares.
”You are wrong if you think all my brothers are under your control.” He spits towards Wasp.
His head tosses towards Varanduil who was no doubt quivering in place at the might of these two mares.
”There is more men where they came from ladies.” His lips turn into a grin.
”I will gain them all back one by one and add them to the growing numbers I have back home. Then I will take the life of your General and you will watch just as you watched your dam die.” His head tosses with a laugh. He knows it was words such as this that will cause a mare like Wasp to lose herself. She would lose control and force Bozena to either step between them or fight for her. Wasp will not be able to fight logically blinded by such rage.
”I seek revenge just as you do and I will not give up on that so easily now that I am fully healed from the war.” Blue eyes leave Wasp only to narrow on Bozena.
”You should have took my offer back when you were my captive. Our child would have been strong by now and he may have been the only one able to kill me. Neither of you will get the satisfaction.” Words leave his tongue and enter the air like a toxin.
