HAZEL EYES
The glowing warmth of summer days
when all the world is surely mine
becalmed and waiting as she stays
to give the purest summer shine
and make the day more perfect yet
than ever dreams of love incline.
Within their depths a promise hides
more caring than a sunbeam's glow
a subtle glimpse of heaven rides
a wave that I may never know
my time is brief as I can see.
….. her calender controls the tides.
Naive and knowing – still a girl
with power to launch a thousand ships
Those eyes can light, and love unfurl
as sun beyond horizon dips
and Dinas circle slows the day
while rapidly emotions whirl.
Well worth the dash through Cornish lanes
Those brown eyes singing all aglow
The urge to claim the tempting gains
the thought of triumph plainly so
To light my night across the sky
dark pools to soothe adoring pains.
