PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

Strpení přináší spasení ( Božena )

“Moje matka mi řekla, buď statečný, kuráž můj synu,” The words were wept into the mare’s shoulder, as Kuráž sought to press himself ever closer to the mare who was like him. It was as though, ever since the moment his mother had pushed him into the sea, he’d been holding himself together with all the strength he had. But at the gentlest of caresses from this mare who was both a stranger to him and everything familiar all-at-once, he fell to pieces, and all the loneliness and fear and grief he’d been storing up came pouring out of him.

After about a minute of this, the sobbing abated, and Kuráž found himself focusing on settling his breathing, drawing comfort and strength from the steady, constant presence of the mare who wrapped herself around him readily. She had a good heart. “Jmenuji se Kuráž,” he said softly, reaching up to utter the words in her ear. And then the colt noses tenderly at her cheek. “Kdo jsi?” he asks of her, and what follows is less of a genuine query than a ponderous spoken aloud; an expression of faith and hope and wonder carried upon a shallow breath that left trembling lips. “Jak jsi mě našel?”

Somehow, finally, he manages to tear his gaze from her beautiful face, and her deep eyes that were so full of warmth, to look towards the mountain that towers over them, in whose shadow he has waited. And the dark colt knows in his heart, there will be no more waiting. And so he turns his back on the ocean, (lets go of the past – but does not forget, never that) and takes the Peak in, eyes wide with awe. “Tady bydlíš?” If this was indeed the place she called home, maybe, just maybe it could be Home to him too.

There were so many unknowns, so many questions that maybe he’d never get answers to. But one thing he knew was that his future no longer seemed so bleak as it had when he’d struggled through the stormy seas on his own. He had the mare, so regal and noble, and she had promised to never leave him. And the pale stallion… With a gentle snort, the colt turns to gaze down the beach, feeling his heart drop a little when he catches no sight of any other lingering along the shoreline. A breeze off the ocean tugged at his salt-tangled mane, and right then, the colt determined within himself that someday soon, he’d find the kind stranger, and learn the words to tell him; ‘thank you, thank you’.

But 'til that day, Kuráž would be content and grateful for every moment he spent with the noble-hearted mare at his side. The colt turned back to her now, a grin lighting up his eyes as it spread across his face upon catching sight of her. "Ukážeš mi?" he asked eagerly, tilting his head towards the mountain.
