Except for the sudden change of hands in the Desert, Libra’s life was going well. She was happy with her growing family. Scorpio was doing well and thinking about living back in the Dunes with the new herd there. Balavant, well he was the only one that worried her. The colt as quiet except when Scorpio was around and he stayed away from them most of the time. He took a trip off the island not too long ago, but he seemed happier when he returned. She wonders if he found an old friend on another island. She was supposed to be his caretaker, but she was only his big sister and her own children took all of her free time. She really wished her mother would come back.
She awoke early in the morning when the sky was still dare. Libra stands over her family, watching each of their sleeping faces. Little Aries was so handsome as he lays on the ground curled up to his big sister Scorpio. She smiles as her eyes settle on young Balavant sleeping on the other side of Scorpio. Libra was glad to have him so close and she was eager to introduce him to Scarecrow. Her mate should already know who he was if Balavant stuck around long enough. The tightening of her stomach reminded her why she was awake. Their newest addition to the family was coming!
Gently, she steps around the sleeping foals and travels a few paces away. She keeps her family in sight as he finds a decent place to give her new child life. She drops to the group and rolls in the dirt to create a small dip in the earth where she child could lay and have some protection from the morning’s chilly winds. Just as the sun was beginning to rise over the sand, the child was born. A soft golden child made of the bright sunlight that now shines down upon him. Libra cleans him off with a smile and bumps her nose to his. ”You will be the stubborn one of the group,” she whispers. ”Cautious and introverted, but once someone gets to know you they will have a cherished friend. My Taurus.” She begins to hum softly to her son as she waits for Scarecrow to return to his family from where ever it was he went off to.
