He liked the Desert but wished there were other foals to play with. Soon he would have others though cause the new mare who called the Desert hers was fat and so was Berit so that gave him at least two foals to play with! He was so excited! The soon-to-be yearling had missed so much of his childhood to starvation and loss that he needed to catch up on everything. Playmates were in short supply in the desert but thankfully he had Vulcan to play with and the mare, Chimeras! Carbon liked to seek her out every once in a while for some play time and she didn't seem to mind, either. Carbon liked to think of her as his best friend since Vulcan was considered his brother. When he marched through the Desert, he heard hoofbeats and twisted his head, excitement painting his features when he saw the perlino dun. A nicker escaped him in greeting as he tossed his head and ran toward her.

She commented on how much he'd grown and he straightened up, showing off his height as he grinned. "Yep, I'm going to be big! Maybe even bigger than you!" His eyes twinkled at the thought. She asked how he'd been and what he'd been up to and his eyes went wide with delight at all the stories he had to tell her. "So much! I battled a scorpion yesterday and before that, I saw a strange mare and stallion come into the desert. The mare cried out that the desert belonged to her now! I was going to tell my dad but he went and spoke to her and now they seem to be friends. She's fat, too! I think that means she has babies in her! I know that's what it means for Berit. She said she's going to give me and Vulcan more siblings! I can't wait!" He glanced around at her own barrel and scowled. "You're not very fat, Chimeras. Do you think you'll have any babies?" As if just remembering what he was saying before he got distracted, he perked up. "Oh! And i beat Vulcan in a race last week! He'll lie if you ask and say he would have won if he didn't get sand in his eyes but I won fair and square! Even Berit said so! Have you ever won a race? Want to race me sometime? Bet I can beat you!"

Taking a break to breathe, he grinned up at her. "What have you been up? Anything fun? I have tons of stories!"
