  • There will be no fraternizing with enemies. If you put yourself knowingly in danger, don't expect a rescue.

bite me Berit

It had been some time since he'd seen the sooty mare who carried his child this spring. Was she disappointed in him for losing the herd so easily to Galexia? Did she regret her decision to live here and support him? He could only hope she didn't slip away in the night, deciding he wasn't worthy enough to protect her and her children. His skin shuddered at the very thought. After losing Vihaan, his world was spinning on its axis. They had so much history and she'd come to mean so much to him, but that didn't take away from the strong feelings he was developing for other mares in his herd. He saw so much in most of them, the ones he allowed himself to grow close to, like Harlequin, Berit, and Melisma. Cerosi was more quiet but he knew she was young and ambitious and he wanted all the world for her. Nasa shared a background with humans and they had that in common. He felt he had so much more to learn from her.

Chimeras was definitely around but she seemed to enjoy the company of his son, Carbon, which he didn't mind. His son needed play mates and he enjoyed watching them run and play in the dunes. He also noticed her reaching out to the other mares like Berit and Galexia, which made him smile. He wanted the young mare to feel welcome here, even if she couldn't see it as her home. His heart grew heavy for missing the company of certain mares and Berit was at the top of that list. Since their cavern rendezvous, he hadn't seen much of her besides at a distance and he wanted to change that. Maybe he should have reached out sooner. Hopefully she didn't think he was brushing her to the back burner or forgetting about her. He doubted he ever could. She was such a wonder and a refreshment in the desert and she brought such joy to his life. She gave Carbon a mother but she was so much more than that. She brought Vulcan here and trusted him to raise and protect him like a son. Then she honored him with carrying his own child to this spring. He couldn't wait to meet them, whether it was a son or a daughter. He didn't care. They would be perfect, either way.

She was beautiful and wise and so young at heart when she let down her guards and allowed herself to be. She was a cool fall breeze on a hot summer day. The tobiano trotted through the deep sands, brown gaze sweeping the golden sands as he looked for her dark coat. A soft nicker escaped him, hoping she would return his call.
