-THERE IS NO HONOR AMONG THIEVES [thread end]

-there is no honor among thieves

Cullen stand with authority over the group. He does not care what the black mare’s status was on the islands. She could be Queen over the entire islands and he would still conduct himself this way. No matter what game these mares played to run with the stallions their gender would always have the greater weakness. The first time she becomes pregnant her body would no longer have the same energy, or be at full strength. She would risk the life of her child fighting to keep her status and prove everyone wrong. Cullen does not have the same risks. For the past year he had no risks considering his family was already stolen from him. Slowly, he was rebuilding the Lagoon again which would mean damage could be done.

Being less of a friend to his herd and more of a Boss helps to lessoning the blow of losing them in the future. He would become stronger this way. To think a mare claimed by the Lagoon thought she could escape and live a life of her own will was laughable. Fearghas may not have meant this life for her, but he would learn for the next time what ‘claiming’ for the Lagoon really meant. Aallotar was supposed to be used as his vessel to create sons of their cause. Sons to raise in the way of the Lagoon to do the same in their future. The warmth of grullo at his side seems to stir the group’s attitudes. It was this such simple body language alone that flashed hatred in all of their eyes.

The young black blanketed stallion’s eyes flashed with an intent Cullen could only assume was to harm him. He honestly couldn’t blame the young lad because this was technically his claim. He had rights to this mare, but as the Lagoon Boss, so did he. If he wanted to use her body for his own gain he could. He wouldn’t, but he could. The grullo mare was far from his taste. She quickly steps away from his touch with a displeased snort letting him no to get off. He would gladly go a round with the mare to show her who the leader was, but he assumes both Fearghas and the black mare would intervene. He would much rather teach these two a lesson at home or maybe even come fall.

The black mare, on the other hand, stands with a face of stone. Her ears show her displeasure even though the rest of her stays frozen. She just watches and hold her tongue until the rest of them were done talking. His associate is the first to speak. A very strange accent makes him somewhat difficult to understand, but Cullen gets the just of what he was saying. He steps forward to show some protection over the lady, which Cullen allows. The golden Boss steps away from her himself as his eyes stay trained to Fearghas. It was his duty to protect his claimed mares from the outside world which Cullen assumes he was doing. It was this mare…he glances to the black stone mare…that was trying to put ideas in their heads.

His eyes quickly stick back to his associate as he gives an offer of his own. He chuckles as his associate finishes, mentioning the mare didn’t seem likely to ask for a foal from any of them. ”It is not always up to them my brother.” He says flatly before the grullo mare pipes up in response. Blue eyes narrow in disapproval at her words. She clearly thought she had the rights to her body after being claimed a Lagoon mare. “Not by choice maybe,” he mumbles under his breath as she claims she would bare no colts for him. The mare then pleads to Fearghas to not sacrifice himself and then apologizes to the black mare. ”Honey Fearghas here claimed you and that makes him responsible. If you act up or don’t listen it is his credibility on the line.” If she cares about this stallion she better start behaving. Eyes flash to the black stone mare as she begins to speak. Faolain, she names herself, tries to reason Fearghas’s idea to him. He might have easily taken the stallion on his offer, but having so much mare insight pushing him towards the idea made it less than wanted. A sour look was on his face as Faolian and the grullo speak friendly to each other. It was obvious this Faolain would not see the end of this anytime soon. He might just have to beat her out of his home one day.

Her gaze returns to him as he snorts. She explains she was not in the mood for games, but she would not be sticking around any longer to hear his answer. In truth, Cullen did not have an exact answer yet. He waits until Faolain was some distance from them before urging the group back towards the Lagoon with his body language. ”I will think about your offer Fearghas, but I make no promises. Your mare is too easily persuaded by outsiders and she does not respect the Lagoon way. I have a couple factors to think about before I make a choice so for now take her home and keep her there.” He watches Fearghas closely and follows them home just to make sure they got there.
