Chasin' down her dreams

I had wandered for months, avoiding the place I had heard rumblings of It being the place others would claim unclaimed mares, mainly because I wasn’t ready to settle down. But, the last year had really dragged on by myself and I was lonelier than ever now. Maybe going there was the last resort, but I was taught better than to just show up randomly in someone’s home asking for a place to live. That wasn’t what a girl like me was supposed to do. So I suppose heading into the place to be claimed and picked by someone was the next best thing, correct?
I stepped over the edge of the meadows, heading into the commons, my blue eyes weary as I looked around the new area. I wasn’t too keen on being spotted, but I wasn’t the girl that would run screaming if I was approached by anyone either. So, maybe this was the best of both worlds, right?
I picked my white dipped legs up as I hopped over the fallen log before me, my thin frame moving easily over the dead tree. My white tail dragged over the tree, snagging on a branch causing me to pause for a brief moment before continuing through to the open space of the commons. I stood with my side up against a large oak, the rough bark rubbing on my side was a reminder that I had somewhere sturdy to lean against. I watched the area closely, not seeing anything to be too worried about. Nothing here seemed as scary as most made it out to be. But then again, I wasn’t sure what to make of anything.
I sighed, eyes wide as I waited, for what, I wasn’t sure yet, but I was sure something was going to come along. It had to.
