Not sure about the Sunday part, but there is duck hunting allowed in season at the marsh. There are restrictions regarding how close to the dykes and paths hunters can be (or how far away they must be), they cannot shoot the swans, and so on. Ducks Unlimited is a partner in the conservation of the marsh. Although you can hear the guns at times, I have never found it a major interference, other than the noise, and even that isn't continuous by any means.
